Charleston at Dusk

I've been painting, and seen changes to the Port of Charleston over the years. Each of the impressionistic pieces in this series turns out differently, depending on where I shot the photo references and what season or time of day it was.

Palette knife work is challenging but rewarding. With increasing skill I find I'm able to paint larger canvases. I'm not interested in capturing every little detail, but capturing the sense of place is paramount!
